How does a mid-sized company get started with AI?

Getting started does not mean picking a tool. It means finding a workflow that costs time every day and whose result you can check. Only once that is settled is it worth asking about the technology, not the other way around.

The most common mistake at the start

Many projects start with the question “Which AI can we use?”. That puts things in the wrong order. A technology without a workflow solves no problem, and it cannot justify an investment later, because nobody can show the benefit.

How to recognize a good first workflow

It repeats daily or weekly, has a clear start and a clear end, and its result can be checked. A workflow like that can be implemented in weeks, and whether it worked is not a matter of opinion.

When AI is really needed

Not always. Where data is moved from A to B, the right connection is enough. AI comes in where content has to be understood: texts, documents, inquiries, knowledge. The difference is whether characters or meaning are processed.

The question to settle first

Before the first document goes into a system, it has to be clear where the data lives and who may see it. This question does not come up later. It decides which solutions are even an option.

Follow-up questions

What does it cost to get started?

The starting point is the audit: a 45-minute conversation, free and with no obligation. The result is an honest assessment of which tasks are worth it, even if the answer is that there is little to automate for you right now.

Do we have to replace our existing software?

Usually not. Most of the time we connect what is already in use. Switching tools is the last step, not the first.
